WP11 compares ante hoc and post hoc interventions in terms of effectiveness of discrimination mitigation and examines potential philosophical objections to post hoc interventions. Combining theoretical analysis with empirical methods, the project studies tools such as the Generalized Informed Interval Scale Update (GIIU), which calibrates evaluators’ decisions to counterbalance bias. It also investigates the normative arguments and empirical conditions determining the reception of post hoc versus ante hoc interventions, with the aim of identifying implementable anti-discrimination tools.
