WP9 explores public perception of inclusionary identity politics and strategies to increase support for inclusionary policies. Using survey and laboratory experiments with stimuli based on real-world examples, the project examines variations in public support for and counterreactions to different types of inclusionary initiatives. It analyses how support depends on characteristics of the potential supporter, the target of the initiative, and the framing of justificatory arguments, with the aim of identifying effective strategies and potential sources of public backlash.
