Justifiably, disparities in health across gender, socioeconomic status, and race have received much attention in the literature on just health. However, disparities in health across age groups are significantly greater than health inequalities across gender etc. Yet, the former disparities have received very little attention in the literature. In his Keynote lecture at the 23rd Pavia Graduate Conference in Political Philosophy Kasper Lippert-Rasmussen approached this question from the perspective of discrimination theory and explore the implications of age disparities in health for relational egalitarianism.
The Pavia Graduate Conference offers graduate students an opportunity to present papers, get feedback, and exchange ideas with peers as well as with leading academics in the field of political philosophy.
