Programme CEPDISC'25

We are happy to announce that this year we will have a special session (First panel session, 3rd talk):

Meet the Editor of the Journal of Race, Ethnicity and Politics (JREP) at CEPDISC 2025!

Dr. Benjamin Gonzalez O'Brien (San Diego State University) will be on hand to offer tips to streamline the submission, review, and revision processes, answer questions, and discuss your work. Dr. Gonzalez O’Brien has also offered to review abstracts or papers over the course of the CEPDISC conference.

Getting a manuscript published can be one of the most stressful aspects of academic life, regardless of where you are in your career. In this presentation, Dr. Benjamin Gonzalez O’Brien, the Editor of the Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics will seek to demystify the publication process. JREP, a Cambridge-published journal of the American Political Science Association, is one of the few academic journals focused specifically on the racial and ethnic politics (REP) subfield of political science. After introducing the journal, Dr. Gonzalez O’Brien will discuss what goes on behind the scenes when you submit an article for publication. He will offer tips to streamline the review process and for reducing the likelihood of a desk rejection. Dr. Gonzalez O’Brien will also explain best practices for crafting response memos to reviewers and for revising your manuscript. After this, there will be time for questions and answers from the audience and fellow panelists.
