What is algoritmic bias?

In collaboration with the Danish Data Ethics Council, Kasper Lippert-Rasmussen has authored a tech explainer on algorithmic bias.

In the techsplainer "What Is Algorithmic Bias?" (in Danish only), you can read about what algorithmic bias is, how algorithms and artificial intelligence can systematically end up treating groups of people differently, and why it is often difficult to avoid entirely.

The techsplainer is published by the Danish Data Ethics Council, and you can find it on their website here.

Alongside the techsplainer, a fact sheet on the topic has also been published.

Read the Danish Data Ethics Council’s news article about these publications here.

Together with the Danish Data Ethics Council and the Algorithms, Data and Democracy (ADD) project, we are giving additional attention to the topic through two half-day conferences on algorithmic bias on 21 and 22 September. You can register for the conference on the Danish Data Ethics Council’s website here.
