The Danish Institute for Studies in Research and Research Policy (in Danish: Analyseinstitut for Forskning (AFSK)) was established in 1997 as a government research institute under the Danish Ministry of Research. As of 1 January 2004 the Institute was reorganised as a research centre at Aarhus University, Faculty of Social Sciences, under the new name: The Danish Centre for Studies in Research and Research Policy (in Danish: Dansk Center for Forskningsanalyse (CFA)).

During the years 1998 to 2004 the Danish Institute for Studies in Research and Research Policy produced and published a number of publications, among these the official Danish publications on R&D (research and development) statistics.
