By setting concrete and measurable standards for gender balance the Research Council of Norway is seeking to strengthen the representation of women in top positions within Research
The council has for many years worked for gender equality in research, gender perspectives in research, and basic knowledge about gender. The new policy seeks to strengthen this agenda by setting more specific and measurable targets.
Among others, the Research Council of Norway has in recent years introduced a gender perspective in research as a mandatory criterion in evaluating applications. More specific, all research programs is committed to evaluate how the gender dimension has importance in their research area.
