”Empower Talent!" is a mentor scheme for academic staff at Aarhus University
"Empower Talent!" matches staff at assistant professor (assistant professor/researcher/postdoc) level with more experienced colleagues at associate professor level or above.
The purpose of the scheme is to contribute to supporting and developing the professional and personal career potential of the academic staff.
"Empower Talent!" is voluntary. Participation is voluntary based on the mutual interest of both the mentor and mentee.

The mentor scheme is developed in collaboration between the STAGES-team and the HR department at Aarhus University
The mentor scheme is founded on experiences from a pilot project initiated in April 2010. When the project was evaluated both mentors and mentees described the scheme as having a positive effect. On that background it was suggested to implement the mentor scheme permanently.
The pilot project was developed as a part the gender equality project called WHIST. The project was funded by the European Union´s FP7 programme, which aims to obtain a more decisive commitment of member states in the promotion of women involved in academic research and technological development.
