My research explores how democracy responds to diversity, focusing on Muslim political representation in secular European countries. I explore questions such as: Can Muslim representatives strengthen democracy by reflecting social diversity, or do they trigger tensions around national identity and cultural integration? By examining these issues, I aim to shed light on the opportunities and challenges of building more inclusive democratic systems in increasingly diverse societies.
