Research

My research targets molecular and physiological mechanisms in crops under stress, and as a result of pathogen attack. I applied new genomic techniques (NGTs), including CRISPR/Cas, to improve traits in wheat, barley, and potato. This includes editing prolamins for better cereal quality, molecular basis for yellow rust resistance in wheat, de novo domestication of wild Solanum species, and R-genes modification for sustainable potato breeding, all contributing to climate-resilient agriculture.
