Political ecological data archive

PEDA Presentation

The Political-Ecological Data Archive (PEDA) is a database with Danish election results and population data on voting precinct level (about 1,800 geographical units) with on-line access from a web-browser. The database is developed at the Department of Political Science, Aarhus University. Access to election data is freely available. Access to population data is only freely available for academic research (by contact to Søren Risbjerg Thomsen). A major feature is the ability to compare changing units over time with a given chosen tolerance.

The database includes results from 1979 until 2011 from elections to the national parliament, to municipal and regional councils, to the EU parliament, and from referendums. The population data is about age and gender, occupation and industry, education, welfare dependency, housing, and immigrants and descendants, in most cases with five year intervals. This site include presentationstutorials for using the database, and resources for geographical maps (GIS applications) and for statistical analysis and ecological inference (Stata applications).
