DEDERE-affiliate, Suthan Krishnarajan, has won the 2016 DJØF Publishing award for the paper Economic Fluctuations, US Aid, and Coup Attempts: Exploring a Conditional Relationship. The award recognizes the best paper presented by a young scholar at the yearly meeting of the Danish Political Science Association in 2015.

From July 2016 to June 2017 Svend-Erik Skaaning is working as lead methodologist in connection to the construction of International IDEA's Global State of Democracy indices. Moreover, he will also contribute to the associated signature publication on the resilience of democracy.
