To complete the PhD study programme in Political Science, Maria Louise-Clausen presents her PhD dissertation, giving a public lecture followed by a defence.
The subject of the lecture is:
Based on your thesis, what are the general lessons to be learned about state-building interventions in 'fragile' states? How can states be conceptualized, and how does different conceptualizations influence the way state-building interventions should be studied? How can (and should?) external actors intervene in order to strengthen the state? Use your case study of Yemen to illustrate your answers.
