Early in 2014 the European Commission appointed an expert group “to identify and propose indicators and other effective means to monitor and assess the impacts of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) initiatives, and evaluate their performance in relation to general and specific RRI objectives”. The report “Indicators for promoting and monitoring Responsible Research and Innovation” presents the results of the work of the expert group. It contains three parts:

1. a conceptual introduction of RRI;
2. a detailed review of possible indicators in eight key areas for RRI policy; and
3. a number of concrete proposals for indicator design and implementation.
